Giving you a picture of language and communication needs in Hounslow Borough
Summary
This site aims to show all relevant and easily available data regarding speech, language and communication needs among children and young people in Hounslow arranged by school cluster level showing trends over the last three years.
While the site is hopefully of interest to the widest possible audience its main purpose is to provide key information for those who need to purchase services to meet the speech, language and communication needs of children and young people in the borough. It aims to show the basic levels of need, the inputs in terms of resources in schools and the outcomes/outputs.
We have taken the decision to concentrate on needs broadly in mainstream schools i.e. we have excluded special schools from the data.
However, it is a work in progress which we will be refining in the coming months dependent on the feedback we receive. We would welcome your comments: scrutiny@hounslow.gov.uk.

Speech, language and communication needs
We provide support for speech and language to children of both pre-school and school age.
The variety of approaches used includes:
- providing assessment, advice and strategies to schools and settings
- working with groups of children
- working with individual children
- training for parents, school staff and other professionals
